Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles took four mutant sewer turtles, martial arts, pizza and a giant rat and somehow turned it into one of the biggest toy empires of the late 80s and early 90s. The 1987 cartoon made them funny, colourful and ridiculously lovable, Playmates made sure we needed approximately 900 figures, and the 1990 movie made them just cool enough to feel slightly dangerous.

Basically: ninjas, mutants, pizza, toys, movies and absolutely no adult supervision. Perfect.
