PERFORMANCE WORLD

Performance World was one of those shows that felt like walking straight into custom-car overload — hot rods, muscle, trucks, wild builds, polished show cars and enough detail work to keep you circling the floor for hours.

The show eventually evolved into what is now the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo, but looking back at the older Performance World coverage is half the fun. The styles, trends and builds are such a snapshot of their time, and some of the cars that felt current then now look wonderfully nostalgic.
